The output is correct as seen on the scope.
This pin is connected to the ground of the system Negative voltage can also be used. TL — Programmable Reference Voltage. Why is it not working in Multisim? Submitted by admin on 6 March The pins 5 and 6 daasheet the Op-amp are used to set darasheet balance voltage if you want to manually adjust the DC-Offset voltage. The transistor can also make the Load to be isolated from the system ground, so if you are looking for a Voltage comparator to drive loads of these specifications then this IC might be the right choice for you.
Any Op-Amp can be made to work as a voltage comparator, but the LM proves itself to be advantages by housing an Output Transistor inside its package. The problem is that tying the strobe pin to ground should make the output stop changing, and it isn’t.
When not in use the pins 5 and 6 should be shorted as shown above. Message 2 of 5.
The LM can work on a Single supply voltage or in a dual supply mode. The simplified schematics lm311j the IC is shown below:. Message 5 of 5. Most Active Software Boards: A sample circuit is shown below in which the Inverting Terminal is set to 2.
As grounding unused pins is a practice on electronics, I guess it was the way of the designer to make sure the device was not disabled for a ground wired to that pin.

According to the datasheet, if you tie the strobe pin to GND then the output should be disabled. Auto-suggest helps you quickly narrow down your search results by suggesting possible matches as you type.
Attached is a Multisim file with every comparator with a strobe feature available in Multisim and a picture of the circuit. An Datsaheet Output Circuit is shown below. The problem is that the strobe pin is not working for the model. Message 3 of 5.

You can note that the Output voltage stays high when pin 2 has higher voltage than pin 7 and vice versa.
You can refer the other possible circuits from the LM datasheet given at bottom. LMN Comparator with Strobe.
All of those comparator outputs should be a high state which means the LED will turn on connected through the 1K resistor to Vcc. I just built the circuit in real life and it works exactly as I thought, putting GND on the strobe pin makes the output a constant state at Vcci.
The simplified schematics of the IC is shown below: Message 1 of 5. I built a simple circuit using the LMN comparator. Could the component model be the issue?
Multisim and Ultiboard
Datashest the voltage at the Non-Inverting Terminal pin 2 is higher than the Inverting Terminal pin 2the output pin 7 will also be high else the output will be low.
Normally these pins are not used since the Input Offset itself is much better controlled. I expect the output to oscillate between 0 and 1 dataxheet the “zero crossing” of the signal. Message 4 of 5. I tried adding in a transistor with a 1k resistor to ground and a TTL signal at the base as per the datasheet and this doesn’t disable the output either.
Any help is appreciated.
